REVIEW

"Can a cowboy lasso the heart of a woman who's been burned by love?"

City by the Bay reporter Lani Simms is about to embark on an assignment to Arizona. Lani is considering leaving her hometown of San Francisco for a fresh start in Tucson. After ending her marriage to a verbally abusive jerk, she's not interested in starting any kind of relationship. But a stranger who is her seatmate on the airplane may change her mind. Lani is very attracted to this handsome cowboy. Is the attraction enough for her to lower the barriers around her heart?

Border Control intelligence agent and single dad Rick McAllister is immediately drawn to Lani's subtle sensuality. He's never been this smitten by a woman before, and he is determined to break through the barriers to the woman inside. Despite a very nice dinner with Lani, Rick fails to win her over. Luckily enough for him, the story Lani is working on puts her in close contact with Rick. Very close contact.

Rick conducts a slow seduction of Lani. Never pressuring her for more than she's ready for, he slowly but surely erodes the barriers she's put up. Will Rick convince Lani that he's nothing like her ex-husband? That he truly cares for her? With some help from Rick's son, Trevor, Lani falls in love with life in Arizona and the people there. When danger strikes close to home, will Rick be able to protect his family and his woman?

Rick is an absolutely wonderful hero, a perfect dad to his son, and sensitive to Lani's insecurities. I want to know where I can find a man like him. ;-) Readers don't have to be familiar with the previous Wild books to understand this one, but you'll want to gobble them all up after reading this latest story from Ms. McCray. WILD BORDERS is a delightful, fast-paced western romance. I recommend it highly; it's a must read!

Sensuality: Rated S-ensuous by the publisher. Explicit sex; sexually explicit scenes: 16.
