"A librarian learns her destiny is to be a vampire slayer"
Librarian Ivy Smith is fairly content with her life. She has
the job she's always dreamed of. Although she's been hurt by
love, she enjoys physical pleasures. Ivy is puzzled when a
strange doctor tells her that she is a vampire hunter by
nature; she doesn't believe in the mystical. Or does she? Another stranger approaches her, one Ivy finds hard to
resist and as impossible to catch as smoke. Vance Rapier
enchants Ivy and they soon become lovers. Is he really a
vampire as she fears? Will she be forced to choose between
her destiny as a vampire slayer and her lover? BITE ME IF YOU CAN has a great premise, but fails to follow
through. I was left with many more questions than answers at
the end of the story. And I was disappointed in the ending
that leaves the reader hanging, with no romantic outcome.
Ms. Foxxe's debut tale may appeal to some, especially those
who are fans of chick lit, but it's not quite to my taste. Sensuality: Rated spicy by the publisher. Moderately
explicit sex; sexually explicit scenes: 2.
