AUGUST HEAT opens with Marlie August going into labor. In a comical scene, the three August men panic at this very natural occurrence. Luckily, the August wives are more level-headed and get the group to the hospital with minimum fuss. With the birth of the first August child, changes are in the air at the August Ranch.

Six months later, it's Christmastime. Things have been strained between the wives and the brothers. Marlie, Sarah, and Heather each share a secret desire that she is afraid to voice to her spouse. Will the August men be able to determine the secret wish each woman has? Why won't they share their longings with Cade, Brock, and Sam? The August men may have to resort to drastic measures to get their women to talk. As if meting out sexual punishment has ever been a hardship to them.

In AUGUST HEAT, we revisit the world of the August brothers and their wives several months after the events in the third book of the trilogy. I had been a little disappointed in the way the series ended. I shouldn't have fretted; Ms. Leigh has written a marvelous epilogue to end the series on a high note. I definitely recommend this heart-warming holiday read, although readers should be familiar with the previous three books to completely understand the background.
