In 1812, the London season had just started. Richard Sebastian Stuart, the sixth Earl of Lyon, was looking for a bride that would fit all his requirements. Being a Dearg- due vampire, only a bloodmate's blood with fully sate his thirst and desires. Maybe this season will be different.

Rose had once been betrothed to Lord William Longfellow; as soon as he got what he wanted he left her ruined. After she was thrown out she ended up in local brothel. In exchange for ten years of services, she gets a roof over her head, clothes and food. It was there she started her friendship with Richard. She was one of the few who knew Richard's secret. She helps him with his needs until he could find his bloodmate. Over the years they had been close friends. When that time comes, he would set her up in the country and take her away from the brothel.

Lady Lily Devlin had watched her mother die a little each time her husband ran after his mistress. That was not what she wanted in a husband. She would rather not marry that get someone like her father. But her father had a different idea. He had gambled away both her dowry and most of the estate, and if he didn't get her to agree to marry Lord Martin he would lose everything. The first time Lily heard the Irish brogue of Lord Richard she was intrigued. There was something about the man that drew her attention. As handsome as he is, she knows that he must be rake.

Richard could smell Lily's elusive scent when he walked in the ballroom. He knew his search for a mate was over. Now he has to convince her to not only trust him but to love him as well. But there are a lot of things in the way of their happiness, the biggest threat being her father. Will they find true love?

GOTHIC PASSIONS is a delightful look at the Ton and its problems. I loved Lily; she is a sassy, independent woman who always tries to do her best. Then you have Richard, a vampire with a heart of gold. The sexual scenes sizzle with pleasure and love, they are very well done. I look forward to reading more novels by Ms. Summers. If you like vampires and the regency period, this is one novel you don't want to miss.
