"A new take on Arthurian lore -- what happens after Arthur's death."
Davyd can still remember the one night he spent with
Lygnel, his queen. Davyd loved Lygnel then, and he loves
her still, even after all these years. He took Lygnel's
daughter away from Dore Castle at her request. She's been
stolen from Prator and Davyd hopes she will make it back.
When the Saxons came to get Ysbet, they also brought the
plague which decimated the number of Arthur's men even
more. The only one Davyd still has is the one he wishes he
would be rid of. Ever since Davyd left Dore, Merlyn has
been in his head. When Ysbet returns to Prator, Merlyn
leaves Davyd and tells him to take the boat and ride to his
destiny. Lygnel has all but given up hope. When Mordred returned to
Dore to find his daughter gone, he had Lygnel thrown into
the dungeons. He showed her the blanket her daughter was
wrapped in and one of Davyd's bloody shirts as proof they
were killed. Since Mordred's death, she hasn't fared much
better. She's been reduced to living in a dilapidated old
hut and wearing servants clothing. When Dore's Lord dies
and his son takes over, Lygnel ends up back in the dungeon.
She has a vision, some of her old magic still remains to
her. She sees Davyd and a young woman and knows they still
live! Will she ever see her beloved Davyd and daughter
again? I love Arthurian lore and always have. I've read numerous
books about it with all different takes on Arthur and the
legends. And I've always wondered what happened after
Arthur's death. The Prator Series answers some of those
questions with a completely different take on all the
legends. Annie Windsor's knowledge of the subject shows in
the story she weaves. The characters are all very realistic
and in keeping with the subject. I really enjoyed the
character of Morgain and how she reacted to Davyd. The
focal point of the story is the love between Davyd and
Lygnel. I really love the way they stay in love through all
the years of their separation. I really love this book and
cannot recommend it highly enough! Reviewed by Chere Gruver for Sensual Romance.
