REVIEW

"In 2043, sexual slavery is legal...as long as you pay your taxes"

Sex Squad Detective Sky O'Kelley believes in old-fashioned values. Some of which have come back into fashion in the year 2043. Sex is regulated and prostitution and sexual slavery is legalized. With the rise of AIDS and other sexual diseases, the government has stepped in to ensure the safety of its citizens. But her morality has cost her the man she loves. Sky had told him that she wanted to wait until she knew she was in love before sacrificing her virginity. Now that she knows that she loves him, she'd rather wait to consummate their relationship on their wedding day before witnesses. After her ultimatum, Jim calls off the engagement.

Sex Squad Lt. Jim McBride cannot believe it. His former fiancé is volunteering for this undercover assignment? He doesn't want her anywhere near Loverboy, who is rumored to be running an illegal sex slave trade. She doesn't know anything about the sexual pleasures a man like that can bring. Loverboy seduces women into becoming sex slaves -- without paying the governmental taxes for doing business. If he can't scare her off the case, he'd better make sure that he's her backup. Just in case...

Sky gets quite a lesson in her sexuality from Jim and her stint at Loverboy's farm. Will Sky and Jim patch things up? Will Sky give in to the animal magnetism that Loverboy has? What will happen when Loverboy demands to be the one to take her virginity? Does Jim forgive Sky for refusing to sleep with him earlier?

Purple prose runs rampant throughout this story. For mystery fans, the sex case angle never is really resolved. I'm not sure, but I think a sequel may be planned to tie up the multiple loose ends. LOVERBOY may be to your liking if these things don't bother you. Hopefully, if a sequel does come out, Ms. Agony and Ms. Springer will tone down the purple prose.

Sensuality: Rated carnal by the publisher. Explicit sex, voyeurism, bondage, anal play; sexually explicit scenes: 10.
