"A futuristic romance"

Joe Hero has traveled far from Earth with his two brothers, to the newly discovered planet of Paradise. After waiting for his brothers for several nights, Joe gets worried and decides to go looking for them. He doesn't get too far before he is shot by unseen attackers and passes out. When he awakens he finds himself in a world unlike anything he's ever experienced before. It turns out that the men on this planet are slaves who are unable to speak and it is considered illegal to educate them. Earlier there was a slave uprising and now his captors are especially uneasy about him. When he refuses to cooperate, he finds himself in extremely dire circumstances.

Doctor Annie Wilkes' one dream is to work in the prison system helping the women deliver their babies. For now she's working as a doctor helping keep the male slaves healthy. One day Anne sees an unusual new male slave. He's suffering from a neck wound but he's in more danger from his captors. Taking a chance, Annie decides to help him and in turn finds herself unable to deny her attraction to him.

The sexual relationship between the two main characters starts quickly and doesn't let up. I did find myself wanting them to have a deeper relationship but I still found the story to be enjoyable. There are a couple of sexual situations that may be objectionable to some readers since they involve some bondage and descriptions of slavery. The world the author creates is intriguing and I'm looking forward to reading more about it and several of the secondary characters' stories as well.
