REVIEW

"Just One Night"

Maggie Miller had wanted her boss, Quinn Scott, in her bed for years. Her chance finally came when French actress Laine Lamonde had plane trouble and couldn't make it to the States as she had planned, leaving her suite, her dress — and her mask for the masquerade — conveniently free. With the help of her trusted friend Kimberly, Maggie donned the dress and set out for the prize. One night, and then she would be free of her hunger. Quinn, a notorious playboy, wouldn't think twice about another one-night-stand.

Quinn was bowled over, all right, bowled right into the next day. Desperate to find the mysterious woman who walked out on him — who wasn't Laine Lamonde — Quinn enlisted Maggie's help.

Maggie's miscalculation gave her another encounter, but she couldn't hide forever. Sooner or later, the mask had to come off....

Kearney weaves a sexy tale with this hot Blaze romance. From Maggie's desire for her boss to the seductive scenes between them, the entire book oozes sensuality. Ms. Kearney's plotting is reliable and interesting, though one must stretch disbelief a bit in this tale of usurped identities. The sex is category-spicy but still varied and very character-driven. Even though there are relatively few intimate scenes, each one is necessary and enjoyable. BORDERING ON OBSESSION combines the character-intense conventions of category romance with the spiciness of erotic romance seamlessly. Readers looking for a sexy treat should keep an eye out for this little gem.

Sensuality Level: Spicy Category.
