"The story might be short, but it is smooth and complete."
Trinity is determined to get off of Rapture's Colony
before
the colony elders sell her to the highest bidder in an
auction. Determined that she would not be forced to marry
on of the colony's overweight slobbering buffoons, she
takes charge of her own fate and enters an off-worlder's
bar in the hopes of securing a position as a mercenary. Captain Nathan August was merely passing the time while
waiting for his shipment of rations to be loaded into his
ship. The last thing he was looking for was a crewmember,
let alone an attractive innocent like Trinity. Attempting to scare her off with his demands for a bed
partner -- for himself and his second in command -- he
only
succeeded in making her more eager to join him on his
ship.
Forced to follow through on his deal with the little
spitfire, Nathan found that Trinity wasn't all he had
figured her to be. From the very beginning, MERCENARIES had me hooked. Angela
Knight is a wonderfully talented writer, and her quickie
is
definitely worth reading. The flow of the story was
smooth,
and even though the format forced the story to be short,
it
felt complete. There was a satisfying resolution at the
end, and yet there is the possibility of a sequel for a
secondary male character.
