Cecilia "CeeCee" Turner has always desired her sister's boyfriend, Victor Ruiz. When Victor is presumed dead after a plane crash, she is devastated. When CeeCee's sister Jennifer finds love with Victor's best friend, CeeCee sees this as a betrayal. As does Victor when he shows up on the doorstep on Jennifer's wedding day. CeeCee chases after Victor to keep him from doing something stupid.

Victor can't believe it. He's worked so hard to recover after his debilitating injuries. Although he still walks with a cane, he finally feels confident enough to go after Jennifer. And then he finds her marrying his former best friend, Jack. When CeeCee barrels her way into his vehicle, Victor tries to get rid of her by demanding sex. Surprisingly to Victor, she agrees.

They have a wonderful weekend, but go their separate ways afterwards. Three years later, CeeCee makes a shocking request of Victor. She wants him to father a child with her. Victor won't agree unless marriage is involved. He's not going to leave another child without a father. Since Cecilia loves Victor desperately, she goes along with the wedding. Will a marriage of convenience lead to more?

Victor has such a painful past that he doesn't trust easily. He's vowed to never love again, but Cecilia seems to be worming her way into his heart. What will it take for him to realize the depth of his feelings? Will he drive Cecilia away before he comes to his senses? And can Victor finally find it in him to forgive Jennifer and Jack for finding love together?

SECOND TIME is a hot, fast read. Although it's not necessary to have read the first story in the "Time" series, the reader will have a deeper understanding of the background of the characters. Ms. Harte has written another winning contemporary love story.
