"The charms are the key to the god Thor and his lover."
When construction project manager Leigh Temple was a teen,
she purchased a charm at a garage sale and has kept it for
many years. What she doesn't know is that the charm is an
antique once owned by a woman named Tianna who was lover to
the mythological god Thor. As a result, Leigh gets flashes
of Tianna's relationship with Thor--only she thinks they're
just dreams. Because Thor loved Tianna so strongly, he has
continued to search for her over the centuries and the
charm is the key to finding her. Jake Thornton is a wealthy man and wants to buy Hamlin
Construction, the company Leigh works for. When Jake meets
Leigh they connect immediately and sparks fly--
unfortunately he's married, but Jake and Leigh are meant
for each other. Why? Because they both hold the half charms
that once belonged to eternal lovers Tianna and Thor. When
the two pieces are interlocked, they make Thor's hammer a
whole. Marilyn Lee is a good writer; however, I was disappointed
with this particular story. I felt the plot was predictable
and the characters were shallow and lacked strong
motivations for their actions--other than lust. For
instance, Jake Thornton was trapped into marrying a woman
he didn't love, although they remained married for many
years. It's only when he meets Leigh that he "grows a pair"
and decides to divorce his wife. (A wife, who, by the way
totally understands that he never loved her and never
would, and approves of his extramarital relationship. What
man--alpha or beta-- would do such a thing?) Even before
the divorce is final, Jake and Leigh basically have what in
my mind amounts to an affair (certainly not the stuff
romances are made of). Also, while she is awaiting the
divorce Jake promises will occur, Leigh does some pretty
heavy petting with his brother. She just couldn't make up
her mind. There were so many characters trying to bang other
characters without any real motivation--except of course
just sex--that I couldn't care about any of them. If
you're already a fan of Ms. Lee then you may like this
book. If you're looking for a traditional romance with a
good plot and strong characters you might want to skip this
one. Rating: NC-17; oral sex. Reviewed by Angela Black for Sensual Romance.

SummaryWhen Leigh Temple buys an old charm at a garage sale, she
has no idea she has just purchased half of an enchanted
hammer once shared by the fabled Norseman, Thor, and his
favorite bed wench, Tianna. Neither does Leigh know Thor
has spent an eternity searching for his lost love, but for
some odd reason she is suddenly reliving portions of
Tianna's life with the Norseman.
When Leigh meets Jake Thornton, the owner of Thor's half of
the hammer, she feels an immediate attraction to the man,
even though Jake's intent is to take over the company Leigh
manages. Jake is just as amazed to find himself attracted
to the nearly plain-Jane woman standing in the way of what
he wants. Though they have ample reasons to distrust each
other, Jake and Leigh are quickly drawn into a passionate
affair neither can resist.
