"Historical with an unusual twist"
Joan of Summerfield was meant to be a bride of Christ.
She had no vocation to be a nun but her father promised
that if his heir recovered from his illness he would give
his only daughter to be Christ's bride. Not wanting to
become a nun, Joan plans to escape. Before she gets far,
she attacked by bandits. Just when she thinks all is lost
a knight comes to her rescue. Rolfe deVere had survived being tortured when he was very
young. He had followed his brother to the holy lands as
his squire but was taken prisoner and tortured by an
infidel prince. He survived by sheer luck and was nursed
back to health by a doctor but the cure was unusual. Once
on his way home from his latest battle he finds a beautiful
lady in distress. Saving her from bandits, he discovers she
has no memory of who she is or where she came from. Not
wanting to leave her in her current condition, he brings
her to his home. This was an enjoyable historical romance with an unusual
twist. Normally I would be distracted by the piercings
but they were handled and explained very well. The
attraction between the characters was immediate and hot. Sexual content: NC-17; piercing, light bondage, anal sex,
toys, one scene with M/M/F.
