"Control vs. surrender"

Ella Delacourte's daughter has just gotten married. Ella didn't approve of her new son-in-law and she's been trying to hide her feeling since her relationship with her daughter has been strained. Ella's trying her best to improve the situation with her daughter but she just can't seem to let go of the past. When her daughter asked her to allow a friend to stay in Ella's house, she agreed. Ella's just not that thrilled with her choice of friends. She's felt embarrassed around James ever since he saw her humiliation at the hands of her ex-husband.

James Wyman has waited 10 years for Ella to overcome her inhibitions. He knew that she was still suffering the effects of her bad marriage but he was tired of waiting. The time has never seemed better to try to push her past her fears and inhibitions. With the help of her daughter, James has a plan to get closer to Ella and get past her wall of ice.

This is the second book in a series and I recommend reading the first book, SURRENDER, to better understand the background of this novel. This is a good read but not a light one. Some of the situations may be too intense for some readers.
