This is the second novel from the lands of Nordan and Sudhra. It starts up where WINTER PLEASURES ends. The land of Nordan is preparing to go to war, because of the death of Cyrus, a trader from Sudhra.

On the way back to Nordan to get Sienna, Cyrus made a side trip into the northern forests. There he captured Raven and her grandmother. As her grandmother dies, RAVEN is reminded that she is the last of her race. Now she is totally alone with no one to save her. When they arrived in Nordan and Cyrus was killed, Raven tried to escape the king's caste. Thinking she was trying to kill herself, the king put Captain Tayin in charge of protecting and gentling her. All Raven wanted is a place high enough so she can spread her wings and fly to safety. But Tayin wouldn't let her out of his sight. Tayin senses something in Raven that draws him as no other woman. In a land of open sex, why does he only want her?

Raven is a member of the Aviat race of winged people. They have the ability to retract their wings at will from their shoulder blades. The race was wiped out by hunters who killed them and cut off their wings as trophies. When two mercenaries from Sudhra come to Nordan, things take a turn for the worse. Can Raven find the love she needs with Tayin? Can Raven let others know about her wings without fear? Are there other members of the Aviat race left?

SPRING PLEASURES has everything: romance, sexual scenes that ignite, sexual healing, and wings. I would love to be healed that way. And just think of the wings as a way to travel. I guess luggage could be a problem, but oh well. Anya Bast has created the very sensual land of Nordan, where people are encouraged to enjoy sex in all its wonderful ways. I can't wait for the next edition. Don't pass this one up.
