"Emotional and Captivating"
David Fraser has spent seven long days alone at sea in a
lifeboat, with no signs of life or land anywhere. David
is out of food, his drinking water is down to its last
drop, his back is in agonizing pain from sunburn and his
lips are dry and cracked. How much more can he take?
Just when he is ready to take his own life, slitting his
own throat or throwing himself over for the sharks, he
sees land on the horizon. David is hopeful for moments
until he realizes that land is too far away, he hasn't the
strength to make it and weeps in sorrow and despair. As
the skies open up and David finds himself in the middle of
a great storm, he is too tired to fight and he accepts his
fate as the ocean takes him under. Gilly found David in the sea and brought him to shore,
bringing him back to life. She has no family, is alone
and can't deny her attraction to David. Never before has
Gilly desired a man as she does David. But she knows that
they can have no future together. Not many men will stick
around, when they learn the truth of her people. Gilly
knows David will not want to stay. But still, knowing her
heart will be broken, Gilly can't deny herself time with
David, no matter how short. How long will David and Gilly
have together? Will she be able to let him go? Fast-paced, passionate and a hell of a story inside so few
pages. David and Gilly are wonderful characters who learn
much about themselves in this gem by Elizabeth Jewell. A
fascinating tale that grips the reader from the beginning
and tugs at the heart strings throughout. LADY OF THE
SEALS is an emotional, steamy romance that takes places on
the shores of Scotland and is a tale that all readers can
enjoy. There is love, add some intrigue of who Gilly is,
and shapeshifting qualities that will please paranormal
fans as well. I thoroughly enjoyed this captivating tale
from Elizabeth Jewell, the first of hers that I have
read. I already copied a backlist of her titles).
The only questionable thing with this tale, was the time
discrepancy over how long David was out at sea. At the
beginning of this tale it was said he was at sea for seven
days, later into the story is stated three days. But of
course, this was only a minor transgression, it certainly
didn't take away from this powerful story. LADY OF THE
SEALS is one tale that I highly recommend to all readers! Rated Hard R by the publisher. Explicit sex.
