"Fairies, werewolves, vampires, and humans co-exist in modern-day New York City"
Investigative reporter Corinne D'Alessandro has just been
assigned to cover a flaky story by her editor. Some crazies
have been reporting seeing a leprechaun -- in October, in
New York City? -- and she is supposed to uncover the truth.
A crappy day turns worse when her friend Ava asks Corinne to
look into the matter as well. It seems that some of Ava's
models are claiming to be seeing weird things as well. The
icing on the cake is finding a strange man about to break
into Corinne's apartment. Captain of the Guard Lucifer "Luc" McAnu has orders from the
Queen of the Fae to find her nephew, Seoc, before he exposes
the faerie world to those in the mortal realm. This isn't
the first time Luc has had to hunt down the wayward
mischief-maker, and it's growing old. He starts by
approaching the head of the Council of Others, which is
responsible for overseeing the various preternatural people
(vampires, werewolves, and so forth) who reside in the
mortal world. Luc is referred to Corinne as a person who
can help him on his mission. Corrine doesn't know why Luc, her would-be burglar, affects
her so strongly. Within minutes of meeting him, she finds
herself head over heels in lust with him. Even her sarcastic
wit can't help her out. Luc is just as entranced by Corinne.
He never thought much of mortal women before, but he could
easily forget any other woman exists when in Corinne's
presence. What's going on? Luc and Corinne make magic together. Luc never thought a
human woman could be as sensual as a Fae woman; now he
realizes that he was wrong. Luc will have his hands full
with Corinne. She's tough and feisty, which I love to see in
a heroine. Corinne has vowed to never sleep with a
non-human, but even after she learns the truth, something
about Luc compels her to reconsider her decision. The two of
them make an excellent team, working together to track down
Seoc. And when Corinne's friends and their mates get
involved, watch the fur and sparks fly! Ms. Warren has another winner on her hands! FIGHTING FAER is
an exciting, one-sitting read! I especially enjoyed the
humor that is interwoven into the story. And there's a plot
twist near the end that I was not expecting at all. I am
eagerly looking forward to the next story in the "Fantasy"
series. Although this story stands on its own, the reader
will get more enjoyment out FF by reading the series in
order. Highly recommended! You don't want to miss this one. Sensuality: Rated NC-17 by the publisher. Explicit sex;
sexually explicit scenes: 5.

SummaryAfter watching her two best friends marry a blood-sucking
vampire and a furry-faced werewolf, Corinne vows there will
be no inter-species dating in her future. While
investigating wild reports of leprechaun sightings in
Manhattan, she meets a man who makes keeping that vow a
tricky proposition. After all, when she'd sworn not to get
horizontal with anyone non-human, she hadn't known Faerie
existed. She'd certainly never been seduced by a sexy
supernatural hunk like Luc. And she had no idea when it
came to matters of the heart, Luc didn't believe in
fighting fair...
