NOCTURNAL HEAT is number four in Marilyn Lee's Bloodlust series featuring a family of sexy and no-holds-barred passionate Vampires who seduce and succeed in being a favourite family among readers. This latest creation is a wonderfully written and powerful story that I enjoyed immensely. First off I will say, this tale isn't for the weak or the timid. It is a powerful story that is exhilerating, but it isn't your run-of-the-mill sweet, gentle romance.

Dani and Aleksei are passionate, steamy characters who leave the reader breathless and incredibly enthralled with each of them. Marilyn Lee writes with compassion about a divorced woman with two adult children, who is full- figured and in love with a younger man. Ms. Lee writes the age difference that Dani believes there to be, and the conflicts between Dani and her daughter, Janie, with class, passionate words and a writing ability that is true genius and very believable. Dani's self-discovery of her own needs, wants and desires is a steamy and lusty ride that I thoroughly enjoyed. Dani is a wonderful heroine who found life doesn't stop when you are full-figured and middle aged. Aleksei Madison, the head of the Vampire clan, is carnal sin on two legs and could corrupt every "good girl" within a hundred mile radius. He has the stamina of a bull and is taken by surprise with his intense feelings for Dani. He is a charismatic character who takes the protecting and responsibilities of his family very seriously. Dani and Aleksei together are romantic, erotic, edgy and powerful...the perfect combo with a hero and his lady.

In the pages of NOCTURNAL HEAT there is also a secondary love, one that I found as passionate and as stunning as the love between Aleksei and Dani. Aleksei's brother Vlad and Adam (Katie's friend from Bloodlust 3) share some pretty intense and heated moments in this tale. Some readers may be put off due to the homosexual relationship between Vlad and Adam, but for this reviewer, I found that aspect a big part of the story, yet also not the whole dynamic of it either. The love scenes between Adam and Vlad were powerful, tasteful, HOT and loaded with intense feelings, for the characters and myself. I got quite choked up, in all honesty, from the raw passion and emotions between Vlad and Adam.

Marilyn Lee writes honestly, bringing us stories that push the boundaries more than what most of us are used to and she does it extremely well. Ms. Lee captures the reader with her words, her characters, raw passion and we can't get enough of her stories, or this Vampire clan. I found NOCTURNAL HEAT to be the most powerful and the most emotional tale that I have read from Marilyn Lee to date.

I am already rubbing my hands together, eagerly waiting to see what is in store for us with Bloodlust 5.

Summary

Unlucky with love...

All the attractive women in vampire Aleksei Madison's life, starting with his mother, have disappointed him. Having suffered countless romantic disappointments in the past, he is in no mood to be taken in by yet another pretty face when he shares a passion-filled weekend fling with full- figured Dani Tyler.
