Fighting demons and vampires is just a humdrum everyday activity for the Shadow Walkers of Talisman Bay. Stephan has been a Shadow Walker for twelve years. He has spent those years protecting the citizens of Talisman Bay from the paranormal creepy-crawlies that visit it. When he comes across one of the dancers from the strip club Silver Twilight being attacked by a demon seeking to impregnate her, he intervenes and takes her back to the Shadow Walker's basement hideaway to be healed of her injuries.

Mariah hasn't had a man in years, she doesn't trust them and would rather use her vibrator than risk being vulnerable to one again. When she wakes after having been attacked while walking home from the club, to find a man leaning over her, she strikes out. But Stephan claims to have saved her and lets her leave without any trouble. The next day she is surprised to get a phone call saying her roommate, Twyla, hasn't shown up to cover lunch for a friend. When she finds the message on the answering machine saying Twyla missed an important business meeting, Mariah becomes concerned. That concern turns to worry when she finds Twyla's portfolio scattered across the yard, and the top of her car ripped off. The police won't take her seriously and after a day of fruitless searching, Mariah turns to the only man she can think of who might help, Stephan.

LOVER'S TALISMAN is a fun and thrilling paranormal romance that will keep you reading late into the night. Ms. Raine's unique humor will have you laughing out loud, so be prepared for the strange looks you will get if you read this one in public. The plot is exciting with many different types of boggles to challenge the characters and entertain you. Mariah and Twyla are both feisty ladies, willing to stand up for themselves and take care of any problem they can handle. You won't find these women sitting around waiting to be rescued. Lots of sexy alpha men populate this story, from the five Shadow Walkers through to one of the bad guys, giving rise to the hope there will be more stories set in Talisman Bay. If you like laughter with your loving and enjoy a good paranormal, this one is not to be missed.
