Lilli Dayton had an idea that her husband might be thinking of replacing her. After all, he had already done that twice before marrying her. At forty, she had lasted longer that any of the other wives. She decides to meet him at the inn when his business trip is over in hopes of convincing him not to leave her. Among the possessions that she brought with her was an antique hand mirror. It was her prize possession, even if her husband Mason hated it. It wasn't modern enough for his tastes. But to Lilli it's a link to a special man who appears in the mirror.

At the inn, she finds herself transported back to the twentieth century as a companion to a feisty teenager girl and a mistress to her father. Lilli is in control for the first time in her life, but Harry Nelson is not sure he likes it that way. Harry had a bad marriage the first time and was not sure he wanted to try it again, but what was it about Lilli that so captivated his attention. Lilli now realizes that Harry is the man in her mirror. Can she made love work the second time around?

StarQuest: Synergy -- Kate Douglas

When Carly Harris saw the ad for Desire Island Inn purely by accident, she buys the ticket on a whim. As usual, she follows the voice in her head. After arriving at the inn, she goes to the bar to check out the other lodgers. Just as she was admiring a younger man, everything went blue then she seems to slip into darkness. When she awakens she finds that she has been transported a hundred years into the future. Not only that, she finds she alone in a cabin with absolutely gorgeous young man. He is a Sensitive who had used his powers to bring her forward in time. Malachi, the doctor from the Armand Institute, had seen her in a vision. He had felt an urgency and danger around her and convinced Tim that he had to bring her to their time. It usually took so much of his power to transport that it leaves Tim impotent. So when he wakes up and finds himself tied to the bed instead of Carly, he is amazed that he is showing signs on not being impotent at all. It turns out that Carly is Synergist, a Sensitive with the talent to increase the power of all those around her. Can she accept that Tim is so much younger? Does he just love her or for her power? Only time will tell.

I had trouble decided which story I enjoyed the most. THRESHOLD takes you a hundred years in the past to hundred years in the future. In Reflections, I loved the way Lilli finally takes control of her life. I loved the flashback through the mirror onto what was going on with Mason. After a short amount of time Lilli started to really enjoy her new life. Ms. Harte writing talent really showed in this story. In StarQuest, Carly is a woman looking for love but is definitely hung up on age. I loved the way Ms. Douglas made it all work out so believably. I have to admit I loved Tim. Too bad he's now taken. THRESHOLD is about two strong women who finally find love and passion. A Great Read!
