"The Deviants, Volume Three!"
Faye Blaise is at the mercy of the Androvian courts. She's
been convicted of sperm-tampering, and is to be the subject
of the first co-gendered trial in Tierra history. Her
assigned solicitor is the cold and stodgy Edmond Jarvish --
but when Tierra's Shutdown Season rolls around it begins to
seem like Jarvish may not be so stodgy after all! WORLD ENOUGH is the third book in Harte's "Deviants"
series, and it shows. Chock full of twisting plotlines and
characters and situations that were introduced in the first
two books, this entry in the series is not friendly to
first-time readers. For those who have been following the
tales, though, it is a great wind-up to the changes that
began with Tory's arrival on Tierra in THE DEVIANTS. The
primary plotline, between Faye and Edmond, is romantic and
unbelievably sexy. The rest of the book provides answers to
questions about Tierra and the futures of the characters
that have already had parts of their stories told. The book
also works on the premise that Tierra is an upside-down
society where same-sex pairings are normal and heterosexual
relationships are deviant -- and criminal. There are,
therefore, a good number of homosexual romantic
relationships threaded throughout the story. WORLD ENOUGH
is a great book, but only if you're familiar with the first
two books in the series. Sensuality Level: This story has been rated NC-17 by the
publisher.
