REVIEW

"A must-read for lovers of vampire romances."

Kateriena Isadora Thomasina "Kit" Alexander needs a job. After a disastrous marriage to a man who only wanted her for her ability to support him through med school and provide him with a home, and who left her the day after he finished his education, Kit has gone back to school. She is working on her PhD in mathematics and though she has enough in savings to pay for the schooling, room and board, if she lives frugally, she doesn't have any reserves.

Since Kit refuses to go into debt, she has applied for a research assistant position with the reclusive Nobel Prize winner, doctor, and scientist Carl Roddenberg. Her interview is set for 12:30 in the morning, an odd time, but Kit wants the position. Since she has sold her car and doesn't have the money for a taxi, she sets out walking from her apartment to Carl Roddenberg's lab.

Kit is almost to the lab when she notices two men following her, one fairly close and the other a little ways back. When she tries to run, the closer one attacks her and she is forced to defend herself with her martial arts skills and kill her attacker. The second man pursues her and she escapes from him, fleeing into the building, using abilities she doesn't understand or even believe she has.

Dr. Rodddenberg tends Kit's wounds and asks her to come down to his basement lab once she is through giving her statement about the attack to the police. Based on the samples Carl took from Kit while examining her and the evidence from the security cameras, he realizes Kit was attacked by two members of the community and that she is a lycanthrope, probably feral, who doesn't know what she is. Carl is attracted to Kit and knows she is interested in him. He wants to act on the attraction but knows he can't tell her anything about herself or the community he belongs to -- she wouldn't believe him and would probably leave, putting herself in danger.

DREAM JOB is the spicy sequel to the vampire romance DREAM LOVER. Ms. Walder continues to intrigue us with the unique abilities of her vampires and lycanthropes, the challenges they face and the use of medical technology to solve their problems. Kit is a very strong heroine, she has a will to survive and will do whatever it takes to ensure her continued existence. Carl is a sexy and dominating man. Together these two create a sexual tension that will keep the reader glued to the book late into the night. This is a must read for all lovers of a good vampire tale.
