"Under Perfection lies... secrets?"
Everything about Brooke Pennington is perfect. From her
pristine anglo looks to her family's background in law, she
has it easy. Not like Sam Martinez, who has had to fight
for everything in his life. The attraction between them is
undeniable, though Sam, at least, would like it otherwise.
He doesn't believe that Brooke could like him for who he
is, he believes that he is nothing but a petty form of
rebellion against her father -- but Brooke has secrets in
her past that Sam could never guess about. PEFECT is a sexy multicultural romance featuring an
Hispanic hero and an anglo heroine. Though a certain amount
of the conflict comes from their disparate cultural
backgrounds, Ms. Harte treats the issue carefully, and
focuses on the essentially human problems that the
characters have to deal with. The main plotline is meaty,
but the romantic subplot between Charley, a member of
Brooke and Sam's study group, and his erstwhile lover
Ronnie, who lives in San Francisco, very nearly steals the
show. The book itself is sweet, sexy, and very light.
PERFECT is a great treat for an afternoon or a lazy
weekend. Sensuality Level: This novel has been rated Hard R by the
publisher.
