REVIEW

"An imaginative sci-fi/paranormal book with a great sense of humor"

Alexis Stanhope thought she was starting a new life. After her father's murder she married Eric thinking he was the man of her dreams. While talking a stroll on the deck of their honeymoon cruise ship, she finds out how terribly wrong she was about Eric. As he pushes her over the railing he tells her that he murdered her father. Just when she thought all was lost she discovered she wasn't alone in the sea. At first she thought she saw a dolphin but it turned out to be a man with many mysterious powers.

In what turns out to be a crime, Alexis is brought back to Atlantis. Once there she is turned over to the Guardian of Atalantium, Thor. He's tall, dark, and gorgeous with an attitude. When Alexis and Thor first meet they are immediately at odds with each other. Alexis doesn't act like the women in Atlantis. She has a mind of her own and refuses to be told what to do. Thor isn't used to having his authority questioned. Even as he finds himself being exasperated by Alexis, he is unable to fight his attraction to her. Will they be able to overcome their differences and discover a love for each other? Will they be able to overcome the obstacles in their way?

This was an imaginative sci-fi/paranormal book with a great sense of humor. I enjoyed seeing the main character's relationship progress and the secondary characters just added to the story. The world created by Ms. Morin was a delight to read about and I look forward to reading more from Ms. Morin.

Summary

When Alexis Stanhope finds herself captive in a world not her own, filled with wonders both savage and beautiful, she knows she must find a way to escape, to return to her own world and her own people, to avenge her father's murder. And yet, from the moment she first meets the Guardian, she finds it impossible to resist the temptation to yield to him; heart, body and soul.

In yielding, can she conquer the heart of the mightiest warrior the world has ever seen? Or will she loose her heart, only to learn that even love can not bridge the gap for two beings from such different worlds?

Rating: Contains explicit language, graphic sex, and some violence.
