REVIEW

"Get ready for a mind blowing romantic suspense!"

This book had all the things that raises red flags with me but I'm so glad I made myself read it because if I hadn't I'd have missed out on one of the most powerfully emotional reads of my life!

Mary Grace Winters had been battered by her cop husband Rob for the last time. When he pushed her down a flight of stairs and broke her back, she realized it was time to get out or get dead. Plus she had her seven year old son, Robbie to look after as well. So she planned and planned and finally two years later she was able to leave disappearing for what she hoped forever.

Unfortunately seven years later, the lake where she had dumped her car had to be dredged and it was found. When their bodies were not in the car, the Ashville Police Department wanted to know where Mary Grace and her son actually were. They decided to bring in Special Agent Stephen Thatcher to open the case back up. Wrong thing to do as it got Rob Winters to thinking as well.

Meanwhile, Mary Grace is now Caroline Stewart and she lives with her son Thomas in Chicago, Illinois. She's one semester away from getting her law degree and she now has a new boss, Max Hunter. Max has his own crosses to bear but still he and Carolina are drawn to each other but Caroline can't let Max get too close even though she's crazy about him and his family. What will Max think when he finds out her true story?

Then the worst thing in the world happens. Rob decides to investigate Mary Grace's disappearance on his own. What happens if he catches up with them? Is there anywhere safe for them to go?

This book has heart stopping, glued to your seat action. I nearly put the book down several times only to have myself compelled to pick it up because I just had to know how Mary Grace's story would finally turn out. Karen Rose has penned a mind blowing rush of a ride book that I highly recommend.
