REVIEW

"A Well Deserved Walk On The Wilde Side"

For those with a thing for bad boys, WILDE THING is very much like having dessert for breakfast: a powerful pleasure that leaves you with "that smile" on your face.

For Liz Adams, proprietor of The Daily Grind coffee shop, Steve Wilde is the source of serious fantasies, which are just the diversion she needs from a life that's just not what it should be. A slave to her business, she has no sex life, and Steve's just the Harley-riding, leather-jacket- wearing eye candy the doctor ordered. His name says it all.

Liz is smart, strong, loyal, and nobody's fool. She's willing to go to great lengths to take care of those she loves. She's serious about paying debts -- even those not her own...like debts left by her slacker ex-husband. Her love of family runs deep, making her loyal to those who don't necessarily share her feelings...like her cousin Valerie, who happens to be missing. Valerie is employed by a service called The Ultimate Fantasy as a phone sex operator. Phone sex isn't their only business angle, and Liz is aware that Valerie attended company-sponsored parties that offered just a little bit more to select clientele. Valerie had been dating someone she met through The Ultimate Fantasy, and Liz is sure that she's gotten in over her head, and is in real trouble. Her plan is to hire on at the service and find out what she can. When it's suggested that she hire Steve Wilde, and word is that he's the best P.I. in the city, how could she not take the plunge?

Liz has not gone unnoticed by Steve Wilde. He's made himself somewhat of a fixture at the Daily Grind just for the simple pleasure of watching her. Finding her in his office hoping to retain his services is just about more than his libido can bear; her story is credible, and he thinks that he can help her. Unfortunately, Liz is unable to afford his fees. Steve agrees to take her case, negotiating a deal that makes no sense for him financially, but he's simply unable to just let her walk out of the office and out of his life. So he seals the deal and while he's at it, he throws down the gauntlet and makes his move. And Liz, knowing an opportunity when it's staring her in the face, makes hers as well. Knowing that this is a once in a lifetime moment, she agrees to an affair with Steve...God knows she deserves it...

The heat that comes off of these two would require an air tanker to put out the flames. He's a take-no-prisoners kind of guy, and she can give as good as she gets. With the agreement that their affair is strictly sexual and won't impact the investigation, they set out to explore every fantasy and indulge every sexual whim. As it turns out, Liz's getting hired at The Ultimate Fantasy does much to enhance the investigation. Liz and Steve are absolutely incendiary together. They are also complex individuals; each is old enough to know what they are and are not willing to settle for or allow in their lives. He's controlling, blatantly sexual, knows what he wants, and how to make a woman give it to him. His life is settled and he likes it just the way it is. She's been "without" for years and uses their time together to explore her sexuality with a vengeance. But can you keep emotions separate from that kind of mind-blowing sex? In fact, if it completely rocks your world, is it more than just sex? And it is sublimely explicit. You'll have to run out this very minute and buy WILDE THING to find the answer. And what about Valerie and The Ultimate Fantasy? I repeat...run.

Steve's story is the second of the Wilde brothers; the first was Eric in "Something Wilde" in the I BRAKE FOR BAD BOYS anthology, and he was something else! I absolutely cannot wait for the third "Wilde child", Adrian. What were their parents feeding these guys anyway?

Explicit sex scenes -- more than one need to count -- and not nearly enough. Oral sex, masturbation, light bondage, all the usual stuff. All of it smokin' hot.

Summary

SHE CAN'T STOP THINKING OF HIM

Serious bad boy. That's what Liz Adams thinks when she catches sight of dark, gorgeous Steve Wilde sitting at a table in her coffee house, giving her a look of bold, satisfying appraisal that has nothing to do with her espresso skills. Still, the man is the best P.I. in town, and the only person who might be able to help Liz track down her irresponsible, free-spirited cousin . . . if she can manage to spend more than two minutes in his company without surrendering to the wild fantasies dancing in her head.

HE CAN'T STOP WANTING HER

Oh, baby. That's exactly how Steve Wilde feels every time he comes into Liz's cafe and catches sight of her sexy figure behind the counter. But a man can only pretend to be interested in the pastries for so long. Now that Liz has opened the door to him, Steve intends to storm right through it, along with her defenses, and show the aloof beauty what she's been missing . . . and what he intends to do about it, slowly, deliberately, deliciously . . .

THERE'S NO STOPPING EITHER OF THEM

Now, in a cat-and-mouse game where the thrill of the forbidden is never quite enough, a business arrangement is about to yield to pleasure . . . and the temptations that can only be found when hearts run wild . . .
