"Good campy fun with continuing Dark Hunter series"

Talon of the Morrigantes is a Dark Hunter. Dark Hunters are sworn to protect humanity from Daimons who want nothing more than to suck the blood and soul out of humans. Talon was a great Celtic warrior who had lost everything but his younger sister. In a blinding moment of pain over a betrayal, Talon agreed to give his soul to the goddess Artemis in return for vengeance against those who killed his family. In return, Artemis gives him immortality as well as special powers.

Centuries later he fights against the Daimons in the dark of the night. He walks though his life alone, not allowing himself to feel anything. One night he meets a woman who starts to make him feel more than he's dared to for centuries.

Sunshine Runningwolf lives a very unusual life. She works as an artist but seems to have a talent for picking the wrong men. One night on her way home, she encounters several extremely tall and beautiful men who seem to want to hurt her for no reason. Just when she thinks that all is lost a tall, dark stranger comes to her rescue.

I found this novel to be good campy fun. The hero was delicious and it was fun to read about all of the trouble the heroine gets into. This is a nice addition to the Dark Hunter books that Ms. Kenyon started with FANTASY LOVER. You don't have to read the first two books in this series but I do recommend it since some of the characters carry over into this one.

Summary

Once the sun goes down, I am the baddest thing that prowls the night. I command the elements, and I know no fear. For centuries I've protected the innocent and watched over mankind, making sure they are safe in a world where nothing is ever certain.

All I was looking for was a hot babe in a red dress who only wanted tonight. What I got was a runaway Mardi Gras float that tried to turn me into road kill and a beautiful woman who saved me, but can't remember where she put my pants.

Flamboyant and extravagant, Sunshine Runningwolf should be the perfect women for me. She wants nothing past tonight, no ties, no long-term commitments.

But every time I look at her, I start wanting things that I had purposefully buried centuries ago. With her unconventional ways and ability to baffle me, Sunshine is the one person I find myself needing.

But for me to love her would mean her death.

I can never know peace or happiness. Not so long as my enemy waits in the night to destroy us both.
