"Not a traditional romance, but future installments bring hope."
Set in 11th Century England, SHATTERED LEGACY is the first
book in a series about the Shadow Warriors, a group of men
gifted with supernatural powers to fight evil. The
Guardians, a race of other-worldly beings, have empowered
the Shadow Warriors to fight and defeat Jonar, an exiled
Guardian who's goal is to enslave mankind. To compliment the warriors, Mother Earth has created four
mistresses who have the abilities to command the elements:
earth, air, fire, and water. Chantel, Caitlin, Arriane, and
Ariel are destined to fight evil and share their lives with
Devlin, Derek, Joshua, and Shanar. Galen, a great sorcerer and father of the mistresses, has
promised his four daughters to the Shadow Warriors in
marriage. His daughter Chantel, Mistress of the Earth
Crystal, has already met and accepted her intended through
a series of dreams that foreshadow their time together.
However, her sisters are reluctant to accept their destiny. This is a story about magic in a classic good versus evil
plot. The characters grow to learn that they must accept
their destiny--even if it's not the future they had
planned. Lora Leigh has introduced readers to the world of
the Shadow Warriors and their trials. Future installments
will tell the love story of each sister. The story is a
well written and engaging adventure tale with a tease of an
ending. Although I found some of the dialogue a bit stiff,
it did not distract from the story because the characters'
emotional turmoil adds depth to their personalities. While
this is not a traditional romance, it does promise hope for
the characters' happiness in future installments--which I
certainly plan to read. If you like alpha males and strong
women you won't want to miss this one. Sensuality Guide: anal play, oral sex, spanking. Rating: NC-

SummaryThis is the "prequel" to a four-book series. This story
sets up the history of each of the couples who will star in
the following books. This book itself does not have
a "happily ever after" ending.
