"The 100th Duet is all that and more!!"
I just love Jennifer Drew's and Holly Jacob's stories so
when I found out they'd teamed up to write the 100th
Harlequin Duet, I was ecstatic and rightly so. The first story is You'll Be Mine in 99 by
Jennifer Drew. It is the story of Hiho, Ohio's 100th
centennial or is it? Joel Carter is the descendent of Hiram
and Hortense Hump. They founded Hiho but Hortense made a
small error in the charter papers so actually the town
won't be 100 years old until 2004 but nobody in town knows
that. Joel also works for Vision Motors and his boss wants
to offer Miss Hiho a lucrative contract to promote their
new line of car called Incline. Katy Sloane is HiHo's
librarian and is just a bit clumsy but Joel is quite taken
with her. The problem is every time he's around her and
everything he says rubs her the wrong way. Not only that
but Joel's boss wants Katy to be their spokesperson. Does
that mean Joel has to 'fix' the Miss Hiho contest? The 100-Year Itch by Holly Jacobs tells us
the story of Zoe Wallace. She's back in Hiho after working
in the dog-eat-dog world of New York publishing. Now she's
running the Hiho paper and is very happy, thank you very
much. That is until Theodore Mason or Mace comes to town.
He's here to cover the centennial but Zoe knows he's really
there to dig up dirt and to make fun of their small town.
Zoe does everything she does to stay away from him but Mace
just keeps following her around. Then when Zoe and Mace
find out that maybe the town really isn't 100 years old
what will they do with the information? These two stories were a laugh a minute. I
thoroughly enjoyed reading about Hiho, Ohio and their
almost centennial. As always I eagerly await more reads
from Jennifer Drew and Holly Jacobs!!
