Tammy Carter loves her job as receptionist at Taggert Security Agency. What she doesn't love is the return of the physic powers that she's been suppressing for years. Tammy sees people's emotions as colors, which can be overwhelming at times. Especially frightening is the fact that a stalker has chosen Tammy as his next victim. The red rage that he gives out affects Tammy physically, worrying those around her.

Bodyguard Kyle Hawthorne is one of those people worried about Tammy. Although he's desired her since he first saw her a year ago, Kyle's horrible childhood keeps him from deepening their friendship. When Kyle sees Tammy's reactions to her stalker, he becomes very concerned. He ends up becoming her bodyguard until her stalker is caught.

Both Tammy and Kyle have had sorrows in their past. So neither one of them wants to leap into a relationship. But their attraction to each other cannot be denied. Will their friendship be able to withstand the passion that flares between them? And how will Kyle react when he learns about Tammy's extrasensory powers? Will he believe her or think that she's mentally ill? When the stalker becomes more aggressive, Kyle is determined to not lose another person who is close to him.

Who is the stalker? Is it someone close to Tammy? From work or from the homeless shelter she volunteers at? There are a number of suspects making it complicated to uncover the stalker's identity. Does the stalker have ties to the murder of Tammy's older sister fifteen years ago? And is a teenage prostitute whom Tammy tries to pull off the streets involved somehow?

TREACHEROUS WISHES returns the reader to the Taggert Security Agency. We get to see some of the characters from DANGEROUS INTENTIONS, but this book is solidly Kyle and Tammy's story. Ms. Agnew has written another exciting entry in her romantic suspense series.
