REVIEW

"His best friend's sister - all grown up and maddeningly sexy!"

Computer programmer Regan O'Rourke got into many scrapes as a teenager, and Burke, her brother's best friend, was always there to bail her out. This time, Regan actually does need Burke's skills as a PI to assist her in stopping corporate espionage where she works. When he shows up at the exclusive resort where she followed the corporate spy, she's actually glad to see him, despite being resentful of her brother's interference.

Former cop Burke Camden is checking up on Regan as a favor to Paul, her older brother. Both men have gotten used to being protective of Regan after her parents died when she was twelve. But now, Regan is twenty-six and is all woman. Burke is strangely attracted to the woman Regan has become but does his best to resist her sensual appeal. Of course, that's like trying to put out a raging wildfire with a single bucket of water.

Regan doesn't want to be attracted to a powerful man like Burke. What's to stop him from trying to run her life? Will Regan learn that giving her heart to Burke does not mean giving him control over her? Can she accept his love without throwing it in his face like the rebellious teenager she once was? Her fierce determination to be independent is understandable, given her domineering older brother. But love means trusting completely the person to whom you give your heart.

Burke and Regan set the sheets on fire in THE REGAN FACTOR. Although I was hesitant at first with the eleven-year difference (not a favorite theme of mine), this couple really grew on me. Ms. Jewell has a deftly humorous touch as well, creating several laugh-out-loud moments. This is an enjoyable novel for fans of lightly comedic romance.

Sensuality: Rated borderline NC-17 by the publisher. Explicit sex; sexually explicit scenes: 6.

Summary

Where Regan O'Rourke goes, trouble follows. When she tries to stop a case of industrial espionage, it's no surprise when she finds herself in over her head almost before she gets started. It's also no surprise when Burke Camden shows up to "rescue" her. After all, he's been saving her from herself since her parents died years and years ago, sticking his nose in where it doesn't belong and generally making her life a living hell.

Only this time Burke seems more like heaven with his broad shoulders and take-charge attitude. Regan's not a little girl anymore, and suddenly Burke seems less like an annoying authority figure and more like somebody she'd like to get naked with on a regular basis.

The last thing she wants is for Burke to take over her life. But when he plies her with sex so intense it makes her think she might actually be able to fall in love with him, it seems she might have little choice.

Sexual Content: Borderline NC-17. Genre: contemporary.
