Prosecuting attorney Kristine Granger is on a quest. A quest to lock up drug dealers, to make up for the one that dealt the drugs that killed her younger sister. Kristine and Tony both grow and learn to trust the other. Although Kristine is fairly naïve, I believe the sexual relationship between Tony and Kristine is accurately depicted. It's fun to see a ladies' man fall in love for the first time in his life. IN HIS OWN DEFENSE is a quick, satisfying read. Give Ms. Jacobs' latest contemporary novel a chance; you won't regret it.
