Leigh Temple is the project manager for Hamlin Construction. She has worked for Mike Hamlin since high school; he is like a father to her. Her life seems to center around work. She considers herself to a plain Jane and someone whom men just don't seem to notice, especially when she is out anywhere with her friend, Cath. For years, Leigh has been dreaming about a guy named Thor and his bed wench Tianna. The dreams had gotten so erotic that she wakes up in a sweat.

Jake Thornton wants Hamlin Construction and nothing is going to stand in his way. Not even the project manager who stirs emotions in him he doesn't begin to understand. His women have always been beautiful, but he can't seem to resist Leigh. When they are together, visions of Thor and Tianna enter into their thoughts.

As much as Leigh hates it, she can't stay away from Jake. The fact that Jake is married doesn't stop her from having sex with him almost every time they meet, only to get mad at herself afterwards. Even as Jake assures her that his divorce is almost final, it does little to make it smooth going for them.

BRANDED is a story where the relationship is love/hate from the first time they meet. Leigh and Jake seem to meet, have sex, then fight, only to repeat this over and over throughout the story. This is a volatile read. Jake and Leigh are wary for good reason with each other. Leigh is concerned about Jake being married as she remembers what it did to her mom when her father left. Jake is wary because he was tricked into marrying Sharon.

I enjoyed the interaction between Leigh and Jake as Thor and Tianna caused their relationship to constantly heat up. I have read several of Ms. Lee's novels and I have yet to read one I didn't like. I look forward to reading more.

Summary

When Leigh Temple buys an old charm at a garage sale, she has no idea she has just purchased half of an enchanted hammer once shared by the fabled Norseman, Thor, and his favorite bed wench, Tianna. Neither does Leigh know Thor has spent an eternity searching for his lost love, but for some odd reason she is suddenly reliving portions of Tianna's life with the Norseman.

When Leigh meets Jake Thornton, the owner of Thor's half of the hammer, she feels an immediate attraction to the man, even though Jake's intent is to take over the company Leigh manages. Jake is just as amazed to find himself attracted to the nearly plain-Jane woman standing in the way of what he wants. Though they have ample reasons to distrust each other, Jake and Leigh are quickly drawn into a passionate affair neither can resist.
