"The second book in the Raising Cain series!"
This is the second in the three-book series entitled
Raising Cane about the Fontaine family. In this book we are
told the story of Duke Fontaine's illegitimate daughter,
Noelani Hana. Much to Jackson and Casey Fontaine's chagrin,
Noelani has to come to Baton Rouge in order for them to
settle the will of their late father, Duke. How will this
change things and now that they've caught the guy
sabotaging their home and business, will things settle
down ? Noelani reluctantly comes but only for a visit. She has no
way of knowing that, even though they are all off to a
rocky start, this is the only family she has left. When
Jackson and Casey find out that Noelani knows the sugar
business, they are impressed but not enough to quite accept
her at first. Not only that, but Noelani and Adam Ross hit
it off right from the start but Noelani keeps telling Adam
that she's not there to stay. She has big plans of her own
and they don't include staying in Baton Rouge. She must go
back to Hawaii. Will Noelani's plan change once she
realizes that she's really needed at Bellefontaine? This book was every bit as good as the first book, CASEY'S
GAMBLE. Eve Gaddy, Roz Denny Fox and K. N. Casper have
written several series together and they all just blend so
beautifully. I have always enjoyed reading their series
and this one is no exception. I eagerly look forward to
reading Jackson's story which K. N. Casper will tell us.

SummaryDuke Fontaine is dead, but he's left behind a
daughter no one knew he had. A daughter who's about to
inherit one-third of his estate.
Noelani Hana is the secret daughter of Louisiana sugar
magnate Duke Fontaineand the secret sister of his
children Casey and Jackson. Their existence is as much of
a shock to her as hers is to them.
Complying with the terms of his will, Noelani travels to
Bellefontaine, the family estate and sugar plantation.
She wants nothing more than to collect her share of the
inheritance and return home to Hawaii.
Three things stop her. One, she'll have to wait for the
cane harvest, since the Fontaines are land rich and cash
poor. Two, she discovers that they apparently have an
enemy willing to sabotage Bellefontaine, and as Noelani is
now a member of the family, she, too, becomes a target.
And threeshe meets Adam Ross. A man who's sweet as
sugar, sexy as sin and damn good in a crisis!
