Cole Andrews is through waiting for Tess to come to him. He makes arrangements for them to spend a week alone together when she returns to her family home for her father's annual party. Cole will make Tess face her desires and accept her submissive side. If Tess truly objects to certain acts, he will stop if she says "no" loud and clear.

SURRENDER is filled with Ms. Leigh's well-known steamy sexual escapades. However, I think that a longer story than this novella would have helped the reader understand the motivations of Tess's mother. As it stands, Ella appears to be a caricature of a sexually repressed control freak. Cole and Tess seem to be well-matched in sexual matters, but it's too soon to tell if they can live happily-ever-after.
