"A wolf-breed discovers that his mate is more than he bargained for!"
Six years ago, Faith's new mate deserted her after a daring
rescue at the laboratory where she and others of her kind
were bred and raised. In this near-future novel, scientists
have created various human-animal "breeds" in a secret
attempt to create the perfect killing machine. Now the
world knows about the breeds, and while not quite accepted,
the breeds are acknowledged as people in their own right.
Faith acts as a liaison between the various groups of breeds
and her pack, the Wolf breeds. Wolf breed Jacob still cannot forgive himself for taking
Faith while she was in a drugged state six years ago. He's
avoided her ever since, not realizing the consequences she
has suffered as an abandoned mate. When Faith is sent on a
mission to Central America to relay a message to Jacob,
neither knows that their leader, Wolfe, has done so because
Faith is in heat. It is too dangerous for her to be alone at
this point or every breed in the vicinity will try to have
at her. Plus, there is a group of breeds working in
conjunction with the scientists that created them to get at
Faith for some nefarious reason. Faith manages to confound Jacob at every turn. She's not
about to be caffeine, alcohol, and vibrator deprived! That
man had better think again! Jacob tries to cut Faith off
from coffee and alcohol on the advice of Wolfe, but Jacob
quickly learns that he'd better compromise if he wants to
survive his time with Faith unscathed. Faith is angry and
she's tired of waiting for her mate to return to her. If he
doesn't want her, Jacob had better let her go. It takes a strong woman to balance an alpha male and keep
him on his toes. Faith fits the bill perfectly. There are
several laugh-out-loud moments as Jacob tries to dominate
Faith only to learn that Faith pushes right back! Jacob and
Faith make a perfect couple, once Jacob learns to accept his
mate and discovers that he does indeed have a heart after
all. Faith is his heart. If you read WOLFE'S HOPE and were left with more questions
than answers (like me), then you'll love JACOB'S FAITH. Ms.
Leigh really shows much more of her fictional universe that
the breeds exist in. There are mentions of other people from
her related breed series, the Winged breeds and the Feline
breeds. It's not necessary to have read these other stories
to understand this novel, however. JACOB'S FAITH is a
must-read for fans of the breed series by Ms. Leigh. Sensuality: Rated NC-17 by the publisher. Explicit sex, anal
sex, spanking; sexually explicit scenes: 10.
