REVIEW

"Pirates and sex on the high seas."

This story takes place in 1815 on the high seas and in Boston. Lady Rebecca Stanhope, the heroine, is faced with the problem of getting her father's ship from England to the United States. She doesn't arrive in Boston unscathed. Her ship is commandeered by pirates and in exchange for the crew's life, she bargains with the seductively handsome captain. The bargain involves her virtue. From this point on, A MATTER OF HONOR segues into several sex scenes. At first, Rebecca is reluctant to give up her virtue but when she sees the captain's fiery determination to teach her the pleasure of sex, she relents and slowly gives in to the temptation of her urges and his magnificent body. When he takes his leave of Rebecca and her ship, she is relieved to find he hasn't taken her most valuable material possession, but is emotionally rent asunder by his hasty departure.

Months later in Boston, Rebecca attends several social events and meets her pirate captain, who turns out to be none other than a titled noble. Their sexual attraction is so strong they flout several strict social conventions to obtain their one desire.

The time period for this story is Regency England and a rather conservative America. Although Ms. Tunstall does a fine job of capturing the essence of this period, England and America were much different in social customs than they are today and I doubt that a man would have been allowed to enter a single woman's room without matronly supervision. Writing novels in any period of history is difficult, but I must award Ms. Tunstall an "A" for an excellent effort. I highly recommend A MATTER OF HONOR to all who enjoy steaming hot and fast-paced sex scenes. I look forward to reading more or her work.

Rated NC-17.
