"Another enjoyable sci-fi romance"
On her way to make a delivery of food and medical supplies,
Celie Cameron is surprised to discover Raven McKnight
stowed away on her ship. Raven has just turned 19 and
wants to have adventures and see the world. Since Celie
is friends with her parents, who better to go and see the
world with. Expecting just another usual delivery job, Celie was
surprised to meet the golden-eyed man accepting delivery.
Before the delivery can be completed they come under
attack from several unknown assailants. Jumping onto his
ship to escape certain death, she's surprised to learn that
he's not a man at all but an android -- or so she thinks. Celie's past has left her with some scars that make it hard
for her to trust men. She's decided that she will never
let a man close enough to her to be hurt again. Since
Rurick isn't really a man she doesn't have to worry about
being hurt, at least emotionally. Rurick has secrets of
his own that keep him from getting as close to Celie as
he'd like to be. Before they have a chance together they
have to face their own secrets and fears. I really enjoyed Ms. Spangler's latest sci-fi romance.
Celie was a stronger heroine with just enough flaws to
make her real. The secondary characters were interesting
and added to the story without distracting you from the
main characters.
