Ashanti has been cursed since birth. Her life will end unless a Beastman from the depths of the Shadowmere gives her his blood. When the cruel Lord Conrad procures a Beastman for just that purpose, Ashanti realizes that her life is not worth that of another creature, even if he is a Beastman. Her rescue attempt goes strangely awry, however, and she ends up a prisoner of the captivating Beastman. Can Blasien win her heart after he takes her into the darkness, and more, does Ashanti want to be won?

UNTAMED is a walk into darkness -- a brave introduction to the world of Shadowmere and the darkly dangerous Beastmen who dwell there. The Beastmen are, of course, shapeshifters, and devilishly inviting ones to boot. It is fitting, with a name like Shadowmere for the most important setting, that the book be dark and shadowed by death, power, and evil plots. Fox pulls off an excellent adventure incorporating a solid plot, vivid characters, and a tightly- woven romance, never letting up on the tension or the intensity. Though UNTAMED is a long novella, not a novel- length work of fiction, it doesn't disappoint. Everything winds up nicely at the end, though there are the obligatory appearances of the other extremely sexy shapeshifters that, the reader hopes, will appear in future stories.

Summary
