REVIEW

"Angels, ghosts, and demons--oh, my!"

Sally Ann is Rick Stanton's guardian angel. John, well, you might say John is Sally Ann's guardian angel. It just so happens that he also loves her and she loves Rick. In life Rick only thought of Sally as a friend, but she had always felt more for him. What Sally doesn't realize is her importance in the scheme of things. However John does, and he is worried that he will mess up on taking care of her and end up losing her forever.

Rick is a builder and is having a bit of trouble keeping help because workers keep seeing ghosts. So when his partner hires a new guy, he makes sure that a lack of belief in ghosts is part of the deal. The fact that the "guy", Alex, turns out to be an attractive woman, creates a distraction for Rick. For Sally, the attraction between Alex and Rick is a painful thing.

John and Sally Ann soon discover that there really is something in the cemetery across from Rick's construction site. Both John and Sally see a man there, but only Sally sees the ones in hooded robes. Now it is up to them to find out who or what the apparitions are and what evil they are up to. Sally knows they are evil, she can sense it. When she discovers them in Rick's room, it appears they are after him. Yet it is not exactly Rick they are after, for this is just the beginning of a battle in which Sally Ann will have a key role to play.

BETWEEN EARTH AND ETERNITY is an excellent, fast moving story with two romances, a fair amount of laughter, a mystery, ghosts, angels, demons, and some really neat eeriness. These angels are a bit different from what might be considered the usual, in that they still possess many mortal qualities. Some of the secondary characters are just that -- characters. They are quite enjoyable and round out the story nicely. I found this to be a very enjoyable story and a real page turner.

This is a sweet romance, no sex, just some kissing.

Summary

Sally Ann spent most of her life loving Rick. When she died, she asked and received permission to act as his gardian angel. She soon becomes disappointed when being close to him isn't what she expected it to be. Lonely and disillusioned, she breaks all the angel rules as she tries to protect Rick from malevolent forces. John is sent by the head angel to keep watch over Sally Ann. A race of angels called The Ancients believe she's the chosen one who can defeat the devil's right-hand angel. John's love for Sally Ann keeps getting in the way of his duty. He's afraid The Ancients will ask for more than he can allow. A haunted graveyard, black-hooded demons and an eccentric old lady bring them all together in a house built for Halloween, where a battle for one man's soul could cost John and Sally Ann their own.
