"Two tasty vampire tales to savor."
Marriage in Moonlust by Kate Hill Leona is to be sacrificed to the monsters -- the vampires,
the family DeBray -- that basically own her village.
However, not all the DeBrays are evil, just one, Kornel.
Now Narcisse, the elder brother, has returned just in time
to rescue Leona, and to be overwhelmingly attracted to her.
Though Narcisse is certain of his ability to control
Kornel, his overconfidence almost causes him to lose
everything. Very good vampire romance. The hero is alpha, but the
heroine is a match for him. The characters are well formed
with informative backgrounds and the story has substance. Sensuality--Hard R: descriptive sex; non-monogamous sex;
oral sex; consensual bondage. Sexually explicit scenes: 6. Icarus by Sherri L. King Morrigan Mederos, renowned poet and songwriter, is leaving
the stress of her New York life behind. Her new home is
outside of Meigle, Scotland, where she hopes to find peace
from her frantic life and the dreams that have been
haunting her. However the dreams are not gone, but become
more intense -- and more real. It's not long, though, until
she discovers that it's not her dream man she should fear... This was a fascinating story, and I loved the uniqueness of
the hero, but I didn't care for him personally. For some
reason, I just didn't find the romance in this tale. The
hero seemed cold and uncaring, the heroine, limp. All they
seemed to have in common was hot sex. The fact that he is
her "destiny" and she seemingly has no choice in the matter
was irritating. I guess I'm just too much of a control
freak to really enjoy this type story. Sensuality--NC17: masturbation; descriptive sex; oral sex;
blunt and some crude language; monogamous sex. Sexually
explicit scenes: 3.
