REVIEW

"This pirate captain wants her as part of his prize."

Lady Rebecca Stanhope assumes the role of captain of the "Margaret" after her father is killed over gambling debts. She considers it her duty to see the safe delivery of her cargo to the Colonies. When the ship is seized by a group of pirates, she strikes a bargain with the handsome pirate Christoph, using the only thing she has of value, a diamond necklace, in exchange for the safety of her crew and attendant. But the diamond necklace isn't the only thing that the captain sees as valuable. What he wants is Rebecca. Using the only option available to her, knowing that this would forever alter her chance for an acceptable match in society, she sacrifices her virtue for the safety of her crew. Surely once this was done she would never encounter him again.

Upon her arrival in Boston, Rebecca is greeted by her sister Elizabeth and brother-in-law Phillip, unaware that Elizabeth has planned a matchmaking campaign. Her introduction to society is met with resistance on the part of Lady Rebecca, and much speculation on the part of prospective suitors; Lady Rebecca has a reputation for being difficult at best. Little does she know that more than one person on this side of the Atlantic is aware of her high seas adventure.

I enjoyed this one immensely. The heroine is feisty and smart, no simpering and cowering for this woman! The pirate/hero is dashing, imposing, tender and honorable. Their subsequent situation upon coming to the Colonies is believable and well written, and erotically charged. A very worthwhile read.

Sensuality Guide: Oral sex, masturbation, explicit detail. Rated NC17/erotic by the publisher.
