"Three stories to stay up reading."
Tall, Dark, and Deadly by Margaret L. Carter It was a normal poetry reading for vampire/horror actor
Claude Darvell until he caught the eye of Eloise Kern.
That, and the discovery that Philip is still alive, starts
him down a path that can lead to love--or death. As for
Eloise, she needs Claude, or at least his endorsement on
the screen play she's writing. It only takes one meeting,
though, for her to want a lot more from him. This was a wonderful story, with a delicious hero and
a heroine that acts with intelligence. I appreciated the
lack of crude language. I usually hate it when the hero
uses "psychic power" to "persuade" the heroine to do
things, but the way it's put to use here adds nicely to the
story. I really enjoyed this one and hope to see many more
like it by Ms. Carter. Sensuality--R. Masturbation; descriptive sex; monogamous
sex. Sexually explicit scenes: 4. Statuesque by Lani Aames Lia Morgan had been half in love with Mac for a long time,
yet she would never be completely in love with him, because
of the streak of cruelty he possessed. Still, she is once
again spending her vacation with him hunting for the life-
size statue of Zamar. When she becomes separated from Mac
and lost in a maze of stone, she finds what she has been
seeking all her life. This is a good story, well written, with a fascinating
story line. Nevertheless, the main theme is one of my least
favorites, so I didn't enjoy it very much. Moreover, I
would have preferred less time spent in flashbacks and
more with the present day hero and heroine. Sensuality--R. Masturbation; oral sex; fairly descriptive
sex; monogamous sex. Sexually explicit scenes: 5. Monster Love by MaryJanice Davidson Werewolf Janet Lupo is not a happy camper. She's attended a
wedding she didn't approve of, almost got mugged, decked
her rescuer, and ended up having coffee with him. However,
Richard is a vampire and well able to stand her abuse. He
also really likes her, so when Janet has to unexpectedly
break their date, he doesn't take it kindly at all. Of
course, Janet has a few surprises in store for him... I couldn't help but like the hero in this one and the
author delivered with her usual fast pacing and witty
dialogue. However, I was still seriously disappointed in
it. It started out so good, but the rape scene ruined it
for me. Nothing that came after changed that. Sensuality--NC17. Bondage; oral sex; digital anal
penetration; monogamous sex. Sexually explicit scenes: 3.
