"Contemporary vampire - a fun read"
Amara Daniels had hit as slump. It wasn't bad enough that
her career was over, since she refused to play
character "Midnight Morris" in the direction the producers
wanted to take it. Nor even that her fiancée was boinking
anyone over the age of eighteen who so much as winked at
him. Then there was the fact the tabloids said she was
dead. Nope, that just wasn't enough, she had to be
kidnapped by a crazy man who actually believed he was a
vampire, and who was upset over how Amara had portrayed one
on-screen. Things couldn't get any worse. Marco knew the moment he kidnapped Amara he was making a
mistake, but even after 400 years, his impulse control was
a wee bit weak. Sometimes he had to go by instinct and
make up for it later. He never intended to fall in love
with Amara. At the mercy of a "madman", Amara finds herself
liberated. She can eat what she wants, act as she feels,
and Marco doesn't judge her. She can be herself, enjoy
herself, without consequences. Well, there was the possibility of one little consequence. MIDNIGHT was a seductive, whimsical read; with a dry,
humorous look at vampire cult fiction and movies. Elise
Adams brings an enjoyable and sensual tale to life. Rated: NC17.
