"He's a suspect in his wife's murder -- and he's trying to seduce the detective."
Jocelyn Bliss, homicide detective, is getting sick of
looking at dead bodies. Especially when her newest case is
a high-profile one. More political "sucking up" to deal
with. More pressure to get it solved quickly. Things look
bad when she finds out that the victim and her husband,
Zachary Simons, were in the middle of a messy divorce. But
things get even worse when she has to talk to the man.
Their reaction to each other is pure heat. Jocelyn can't
get involved with a potential suspect, but as the days go
on, she finds herself getting into some compromising
positions with Zachary. (Like closets!) She's soon
wondering if she should ask to be taken off the case. She's
gotten into trouble before, and her superiors are watching
her every move. She can't resist him, and he knows it. But
is he just trying to seduce her to throw her off the case?
Or is she looking to arrest him to prove she can't be
swayed? Ms. St. Claire creates a wonderful balance of tension,
sensuality, and uncertainty in her characters for an
enjoyable read. The struggle that Jocelyn goes through with
her conscience as she explores a relationship with Zach is
well structured and believable. The immediate and ongoing
attraction felt between the H/H are well depicted, drawing
the reader into the story. I highly recommend this
thrilling page-turner. Sexual Content: NC-17.
