"A good contemporary erotic short story."
Involved in a wreck after taking a detour in the middle of
nowhere in West Virginia, Lynne Temple wakes up to find
she is the hostage of an escaped convict. Jesse Redshaw
was serving time in Florida for being a serial rapist and
murderer. Lynne immediately recognizes Jesse as the escaped
serial killer, and will do anything to stay alive. She
begins to attempt to satisfy his every desire. After seven
years in prison, Jesse is unable to explain to this fantasy-
come-alive woman that he is not what she thinks he is, and
he shamelessly takes advantage of everything she offers.
After several days together, Lynne is falling in love with
a man she believes to be capable of rape and murder, while
Jesse realizes they can have no future together with him
forever a fugitive from the law. I thought this an enjoyable book, with some lightweight
bondage and lots of steamy sex. As always, Jaid Black
delivers the erotica, and the fear factor at the beginning
of the story added a new twist. Rated NC-17 by Ellora's Cave.
