"A contemporary romance novel with some flaws"

Carissa Evans' wedding is coming up and she's going through the hell of trying to find a wedding dress with her mother. It seems that her mother has taken over all of the wedding plans and it's starting to be more about what her mother wants. As she's trying on one dress she catches her mother in a lie that has her so upset that she decides to leave the store without getting a dress. Carissa has had some vague feelings that something isn't right and as time goes by she learns more about secrets that have been kept from her.

As her life starts to fall apart she gets close to Jake, a customer at her father's bookstore. He's older and seems to accept Carissa unconditionally but there are still secrets that could threaten their relationship.

In the beginning I started off liking the characters but some of their actions had me losing interest in them.

Rated Hard R by the publisher.

I had a big problem with this book since the heroine kept drinking alcohol after she learned she was pregnant. I don't understand why in this day and age an author would have a pregnant woman drinking alcohol.
