Dean "Dee" MacLeod runs her family's cattle ranch in small- town Arizona. Known as "Dean the Ice Queen" by her cowhands, she longs for a strong, virile man like the one who walked away from her ten years ago, breaking her heart.

U.S. Customs agent Jake Reynolds is back in town and he doesn't intend to leave this time. He wonders if the woman he was never able to forget has started a family without him. To his delight, she's still single and as feisty as ever.

Cattle rustlers are stealing cattle from Dee's and surrounding ranches. Jake has returned to the area to track drugs that are being smuggled over the border from Mexico. An amorous neighbor, a bull calf that could be the spawn of Satan, continued cattle rustling, and a mysterious incident of sabotage all try to distract Jake and Dee from their strong attraction to each other.

Dee, a feisty redhead (okay, auburn haired), doesn't intend to let Jake back into her heart. She plans on making him pant after her; this time she'll be the one to walk away. But she hasn't counted on Jake's persistent desire to be more than just a casual fling. This time Jake is playing for keeps.

Wow! This story sizzles with the sexual pull between Dee and Jake. Reunion stories are a favorite of mine and this one is great. Unable to keep their hands off each other, Dee and Jake are very creative in fulfilling each other's fantasies. After reading WILDFIRE, don't expect to ever look at cheesecake in the same way again.

Readers who expect a neat resolution to the cattle rustling will have to wait. This series continues with WILDCAT in April and WILDCARD in June. I expect the mystery behind the rustling will be resolved in the final book.

Summary
