REVIEW

"Tumultuous love scenes for a short story."

At a family gathering, Dulcie is introduced to her friend's brother. Dr. Matthew Winter is tall and he's not just a pretty face, he's also a hematologist, a studier of blood- related diseases. Matthew works all day and far into the night, getting very little sleep. All work and no play have made Matthew a dull guy, but Dulcie is going to change that. She is going to teach him how to have fun, while he will show her restraint.

Dulcie is grateful that Matthew is a vampire, because she doesn't have to be as gentle as she would with a human lover, and the sexual scenes are boisterous. Clothes get ripped off because they're in the way.

BLOOD DOCTOR is a fast and pleasant read. I could see it being expanded into a longer story. There are so many questions that could be answered to make the story longer. This would also add tiny nuances of the hero/heroine's life. The love scenes are tumultuous, but the ending is a journey in discovery. Though Matthew is a genius he doesn't know the first thing about what he can accomplish outside the laboratory, but Dulcie will be there to show him what is missing in his life.

Reading BLOOD DOCTOR a second time, I noticed that is was one long chapter. Since I wasn't cognizant of this fact I really don't see this as a problem. This is an Ellora's Cave short story, 37 pages in length.

Sensuality: Monogamous sex, oral sex, descriptive sex, exhibitionist sex. Rated NC-17 by the publisher.
