"Meet a Vampire Pirate Captain."
Sabine, the youngest of the Debray family, was raised on
stories told by her brother Narcisse. Stories of the
Vampire Captain Donovan, his Pirating ways that depicted
him as a carnal aficionado and seducer of women. Both
Sabine and her brother were born vampires though they live
in a human world with mortal servants and friends. Narcisse and his new wife Leona go away on a honeymoon,
leaving Sabine to take care of things at home. Captain
Galen Donovan shows up at the castle door requesting help.
He has been injured by a silver arrowhead and, without help
from another of his kind, is dying. If Sabine allows him to
take her blood, their passion for each other will become
uncontrollable. Having sex will cause them to be bonded for
all eternity, life mates throughout time. Knowing this, she
still helps him by giving him her blood. With the Northern King hot on Galen's tail, they evade
capture by embarking on board ship to his island, fighting
all the way. Why is Galen so afraid of the Northern King?
Is he worth saving? And can they? Even though Sabine is
spoiled, headstrong, and passionate, she needs to take a
stance and stick to it. She yells at Galen one minute and
is having wild passionate sex with him the next. The loyalty between Galen and his crew is commendable, but
what shines are the interactions with Sabine and Sofian,
the Captain's first mate. MOONLUST PRIVATEER is loaded with
love, death, fighting, betrayal, and honor. Galen's honor
for his mate. Fighting for what he believes in. Sabine
grows up and finds something and someone to believe in.
Galen must find if it is better to stay with one woman or
go back to his wandering ways. There are a few inconsistencies in MOONLUST PRIVATEER. A
couple of awkward sentences and missing words that halt the
rhythm of the story. More descriptions of emotions that the
hero/heroine are feeling are needed. I felt Ms Hill needed
to expound on Sabine's brother Kornel's death; though this
had no bearing on the story itself, it caught my interest. Sensuality: I didn't understand the publisher's "Hard R"
rating. In my humble opinion, MOONLUST PRIVATEER is far
from being a Hard R and is quite tamer that others at
Ellora's Cave. It has oral sex; monogamous sex.
