REVIEW

"Steamy love scenes and small-town life."

This story is set in Yorkshire Falls, NY, small town America. We open with Officer Rick Chandler responding to a 911-disturbance call placed by a local junior high school teacher. The only disturbance is to Officer Rick's frame of mind when he arrives on the scene only to find said teacher dressed to seduce.

Rick has been busy fielding such attempts from the local townswomen every since his mother made it known that she wants her sons to marry and give her grandchildren. Our heroine arrives in town with a broken-down car dressed in bridal white. Our poor hero can only think, what next?

Kendall Sutton left her potential groom with an amicable parting of the ways. She has come to town to claim the house that she has inherited from an elderly aunt. She wants to sell out and move to Sedona, Arizona, to study jewelry making techniques.

Officer Rick grills Kendall just knowing that this is another one of his mother's setups. One he wants to stop before it starts, even though he is physically attracted to Kendall. Kendall quickly puts him in his place when she tells him who her aunt was (one of his mother's good friends). He takes her to her aunt's house, where she finds an elderly couple, friends of her aunt, "shacking up. So she goes to the guesthouse, which is in dismal shape. Kendal realizes that she's not going to be able to sell the house without doing some work to it.

Rick, trying to make up for his poor behavior, offers Kendall a deal. He'll help her fix the house if she'll act as his girlfriend. Kendall agrees.

Our confirmed bachelor, rescuer of damsels in distress, finds himself very quickly falling for Kendall. He now has to convince our spur of the moment heroine that just maybe small-town life won't be so bad.

Kendall is made to seem more human when having to deal with her sister who is kicked out of boarding school. She slowly discovers that although her parents abandoned her, she still might be suited for a family life with the right man to temper her impulsivity.

Steamy love scenes will keep you turning pages.
